Win a Big Apple
CMA’s Apple Awards have been around for decades. This year, CMA’s Best in Show contest adds the Best of Best in Show: The Big Apples.
It costs nothing to earn a Big Apple. Simply put, the first-place winners of each category will be judged against each other to determine which one is the most outstanding submission in each division.
Confused? Think of it as the Westminster Kennel Dog Show, where the best-in-class terrier competes against the best-in-class hound for overall winner. There will be five Big Apples – one for each division.

Two-Year Colleges
Four-year colleges by enrollment:
Division I (10,000+ enrollment)
Division II (3,000-9,999 enrollment)
Division III (1,000-2,999 enrollment)
Division IV (999 and fewer enrollment
The entry fee…
It costs only $20 to enter the Apple Awards, whose 19 categories include both the traditional (Best Magazine) and the unique (Best Social Media Engagement). Submissions are limited to one per outlet in each category.
The deadlines…
- Deadline to enter is Friday, Feb. 14, by 11:59 pm EST.
- Submissions must have been published between March 1, 2024 and Feb. 5, 2025.
- Winners will be announced at the Apple Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 1.
